The ceremony, granting the honorary degree to Professor Zygmunt Litwińczuk for his significant contribution to the development of science, was held on the 14th November 2016 at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences.

Prof. dr hab. Zygmunt Litwińczuk, the Rector of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, is an esteemed specialist in cattle breeding, both in Poland and abroad. His scientific interests focus on  breeding and use of cattle, animal husbandry as well as assessment of animal raw materials. In 2007 Professor Litwińczuk was awarded with the prestigious Tadeusz Vetulani medal for his involvement in restitution and protection of genetic resources of the lowland breed.  Professor Litwińczuk was granted Doctor Honoris Causa by Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities (2008) and by the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (2013).

Professor Litwińczuk was awarded Doctor Honoris Causa during the celebration of the 65th Anniversary of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences.
